It has been a while since I shared a DIY and short video on some of my art. I hope this short time-lapse video inspires you to create beautiful abstract botanical art. It is not only fun and fulfilling but also a great way to bring your own creations to your home decor.

After I created this abstract botanical art in Procreate, I exported it as a PSD and opened it on Photoshop where I created a pattern with this design. I then experimented with colors and kept two fun and summery colorways, one in teal blue and one in peach orange.
When I create a piece of art that I like I try to create a few more supporting patterns and create a mini collection. This is a great way to add some more art to my portfolio without having to create a full collection of 8 to 10 patterns.
My Current Favorite Tools for Digital Art
While I love painting in watercolors and keep my daily practice of painting at least for fifteen minutes each day, I have been spending a lot more time on digital art. I find that working digitally saves me the time to have to scan and clean up the motifs to create the patterns or illustrations. I don’t think I’ll ever stop using my watercolors but there are a few tools that are making my digital art creation an enjoyable and more efficient process.
While these tools are very inexpensive they are great tools to add to your creative process. I hope you check them out. Let me know if you like them.
Apple Pencil Fine (0.78mm) tip – this tip makes the apple pencil truly feel like a pencil. The fine tip is smooth on the surface and along with the the paperlike below it is perfect for creating art on your tablet.
Paperlike Screen Protector – this paperlike screen protector is great. It takes the slippery feel of the tablet screen and makes it feel just like you are writing and drawing on paper. It gives the surface the perfect drag to create beautiful art.
Drawing Glove – this glove is perfect for avoiding those marks and lines that keep messing up my art. I have a hard time when I have to go back and find where the line or dot was created, in which layer, and see if I can fix it without damaging the design. No more having to redo parts of your design – this glove is great!
