This beach-inspired summer whipped soap DIY was a fun idea and the perfect soap to bring to our beach trip over the weekend. Since we are in TX, we have the opportunity to visit the beach almost all year long. This whipped soap is great to make any time of the year but the inspiration for the colors and scent came from our beach camping adventures. I love the beautiful combination of summer bronze and blue colors. The wonderful aroma of sea salt and yuzu fragrance oil is very refreshing and perfect for this beach themed whipped soap.

Making whipped soap is easy and one of my favorite skincare DIYs to make. You can make so many variations by simply changing colors and scents. For this summer whipped soap DIY, you can use a whipped soap base or make your own. I have a DIY whipped soap base from scratch post that you can use to make your own base for this DIY. Otherwise, I have a recommendation for one of my favorite store-bought whipped soap bases in the list of ingredients below. I like that the color theme with the blue and brown reminds me of some of the home decor that has been used a lot lately. This summer-themed whipped soap is a great hostess gift to make for friends and family.
Summer Themed Whipped Soap
The scent I selected for this summer whipped soap is called sea salt and yuzu. It is a lovely scent with notes of a blend of satsuma orange, ruby red grapefruit, Japanese yuzu, sea salt, apricots, ripe nectarines, and aloe leaf. It is perfect for other skin care projects such as body butters, creams, and lotions. This scent is very refreshing and light.
In this formulation, I’ve added unrefined organic shea butter which is one of my favorites for skin care products. I prefer unrefined shea butter but some of you have asked for other options and I recommend getting refined shea butter. The refined shea butter retains the properties but removes the scent and color and it is still a great option to use. You can also replace the shea butter with kokum butter or mango butter. Shea butter is highly moisturizing and some studies show that it can also soothe skin problems and is high in antioxidants which can have anti-aging properties.

How to make beach inspired summer whipped soap
Separate 2.5 ounces from the whipped soap base container and place in a mixing bowl. Learn how to make whipped soap base from scratch in this post.
Weigh out the 0.5 ounces of shea butter and add to the mixing container with the whipped soap base.
Use the hand mixer and mix for a minute or two to mix the shea butter and base.
Add the sunflower oil and Vitamin E oil and the fragrance or essential oils if you plan to use them, and mix well for another five minutes.
Mix well for another five to seven minutes. This will incorporate air into the mix and will create the light and fluffy consistency of the whipped soap.
Other oils I have used for whipped soap that are also great for the skin and can be used as a replacement for sunflower oil are jojoba oil, sweet almond oil, and grapeseed oil – all great for the skin with wonderful moisturizing properties. Rice bran oil can also be a suitable replacement as it is also high in Vitamin E.
How to color the summer whipped soap
Add the blue mica colorant to the whipped soap and combine using a spatula. Then mix well using the hand mixer.
To pipe the whipped soap into the jars and keep the bronze border color, place the summer bronze mica mixed with sunflower oil on cling wrap in three parallel lines. Then place the blue soap over the center line and fold. Finally, insert the soap into a piping bag and pipe the whipped soap into the saving jars.
Use it as often as you want. This is just a great treat for the shower or bath.
