I’m excited to share this lovely and luxurious Campfire Marshmallows summer and autumn-inspired whipped soap DIY. This soap has a beautiful aroma of sweet marshmallows and brown sugar sweet crackers, a perfect scent for both summer and fall. I’ve used this Campfire Marshmallows fragrance oil before in cold process soap, even though it discolors. I just love this gourmand scent so much, it’s one of my favorites to make at the end of summer and early autumn.

We are right in the middle of August, and school has started, which means no more camping trips for a while. I was inspired by the lovely scent and the season. It is a perfect scent for those transition days from summer to fall.
One thing I love about making whipped soap is that I can customize it with different colors and scents to create unique whipped soaps for every season. For this Campfire Marshmallows summer soap DIY, you can use a whipped soap base, as I am sharing on the ingredients list, or make your own. I have a DIY whipped soap base from scratch post that you can use to make your base from scratch. Otherwise, I recommend one of my favorite store-bought whipped soap bases, listed in the ingredients list below. This Campfire Marshmallows whipped soap is a great hostess gift to make for friends and family any time of the year.
Campfire Marshmallows Whipped Soap Perfect for Summer
I like making the two-color style whipped soaps. I think it gives the soaps a lovely aesthetic, and it’s fun to pipe. For this lovely whipped soap, I decided to use the copper penny color mica to give just a hint of the colors in a campfire s’more. However, you can choose to use a single color and only color the borders as I did in the Vanilla Woods Whipped Soap DIY post or the Creme Brulee Whipped Soap DIY.

In this whipped soap DIY formulation, I’ve added shea butter and MCT oil. I’ve used shea butter in several of my whipped soap formulations because it is great for the skin, one of my favorites to use for all my soaps. I use it all the time in my cold process soaps, whipped soaps, and body butters. It is great for skin care products. However, today I am using MCT oil, which is yet another one of my favorite oils and is great for skincare products.
Benefits of MCT Oil and Shea Butter in Skin Care Products
MCT Oil in Skincare Products:
MCT oil (medium-chain triglyceride oil) is a lightweight, fast-absorbing ingredient derived from coconut or palm kernel oil. Known for its silky texture and non-greasy finish, it’s ideal for skincare because it nourishes and hydrates without leaving a heavy residue. MCT oil is non-comedogenic, making it suitable for most skin types, including acne-prone and sensitive skin. Rich in fatty acids like caprylic and capric acid, it helps maintain the skin’s protective barrier, lock in moisture, and support a smooth, supple complexion. With its natural antimicrobial and soothing properties, MCT oil is often used to calm irritation while protecting skin from dryness and environmental stressors.
Shea Butter in Skincare Products:
Shea butter is a rich, creamy fat extracted from the nuts of the shea tree and is highly valued in skincare for its intensive moisturizing properties. Packed with vitamins A and E, it helps to soothe and moisturize dry skin. Research suggests it also has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant qualities, making it ideal for promoting skin regeneration and improving elasticity. Shea butter forms a protective barrier on the skin, locking in moisture and shielding it from environmental stressors. It is used widely in skin care products.
You can also replace the shea butter with kokum butter, mango butter, or cocoa butter to make the formulation harder if it is too soft for you.

How to make Campfire Marshmallows Whipped Soap Perfect for any Season
Separate 4 ounces from the whipped soap base container and place in a mixing bowl. Learn how to make whipped soap base from scratch in this post.

Add the MCT oil, Vitamin E oil, and fragrance oil if you plan to use it, and mix well for one to two minutes.
Weigh out 1.0 ounce of shea butter and melt it in the microwave.
Allow the shea butter to start cooling, and then add it to the mixing container with the whipped soap base and MCT oil.
Mix well using a hand mixer or stand mixer for five to seven minutes.
Mixing for five to seven minutes will incorporate air into the mix and will create the light and fluffy consistency of the whipped soap. Be patient, it is worth it.
Other oils I have used for whipped soap that are also great for the skin and can be used as a replacement for the MCT oil are rice bran oil, sweet almond oil, and grapeseed oil – all great for the skin with wonderful moisturizing properties. Rice bran oil is a wonderful replacement as it is also high in Vitamin E. I always keep these oil options on hand for my cold process soap formulations.
How to color the Summer and Fall Campfire Marshmallows whipped soap
Add one teaspoon of MCT oil to a small bowl.
Add 1/8th of a teaspoon of the copper penny color mica to the MCT oil and mix well.
Place the mica color mix on cling wrap as shown below.

Insert the soap into a piping bag and pipe the whipped soap into the saving jars.

Use it as often as you want. This is just a great treat for the shower or bath. I keep it next to the sink to use for hand washing. I love how my hands feel when I use this whipped soap.
