To add a bit of color I added Merlot Sparkle mica however you can keep this ingredient out if you want to gift it to Dad or any male in your family.
How to make cherry lip balm with avocado and coconut oil
Ingredients & Materials:
- 1.5 oz avocado oil
- .5 oz coconut oil
- 1.5 oz beeswax
- 2 – 3 ml of cherry flavor oil
- 1 ml vitamin E oil
- pinch of lip-safe mica (I used Merlot sparkle, this item is optional – use the tip of a spoon to get it out of the container)
- 20 lip balm tubes
- heat-safe container (or double boiler)
First, combine coconut oil and beeswax in the heat-safe container and melt using the double boiler method. This can also be done in the microwave.
Once melted add the avocado oil then allow to cool for two to three minutes then add the flavor oil and vitamin E oil and mix well. Allow the cherry lip balm mix to cool to around 135 degrees F and add the lip safe mica if using.
Pour the mix into the lip balm tubes and allow to cool.
Clean the outside of the tubes with a cotton ball wet in rubbing alcohol and place the cap on.
Mother’s Day is right around the corner, so I made a simple label for these DIY lip balms. These luxurious cherry berry lip balms are now ready to gift.
