This home spa whipped soap with sea clay DIY is great for a lovely home spa afternoon and perfect to create at a skincare DIY party. I have sea clay that I add to my cold process soaps for certain formulations and I wanted to create a simple and easy-to-follow DIY that uses this great clay.

Sea clay is also known as marine clay or sea silt. It is highly beneficial in homemade DIY skincare products because of its rich mineral content. The sea clay is packed with essential minerals like magnesium, calcium, potassium, and iron, sea clay helps to detoxify and purify the skin by drawing out impurities and excess oils. Its fine particles also provide gentle exfoliation, removing dead skin cells and promoting a smoother, more radiant complexion. Additionally, the clay’s natural astringent properties help to tighten pores and improve skin texture.
Incorporating sea clay into DIY skincare routines not only offers a natural and effective solution for various skin concerns but also provides a luxurious spa-like experience at home.
For this home spa whipped soap DIY with sea clay, you can use a whipped soap base or make your own. I have a DIY whipped soap base from scratch post that you can use to make your base from scratch. Otherwise, I have a recommendation for one of my favorite store-bought whipped soap bases in the list of ingredients below.
Home Spa Whipped Soap with Sea Clay
I’ve added a bit of lavender essential oil and a lovely fragrance oil called Honey I washed the Kids – this is a duplicate available at most fragrance oil suppliers. It is a lovely light floral scent perfect for an evening spa. This scent is perfect for other skin care projects such as body butter, creams, and lotions, it is just wonderful.
I decided to keep this formulation very simple and skipped adding any butters. However, you can use any of my other formulations in this blog and simply add the sea clay if you prefer to include a lovely skin loving butter to the whipped soap.

How to make home spa whipped soap with sea clay
Separate 4 ounces from the whipped soap base container and place in a mixing bowl. Learn how to make whipped soap base from scratch in this post.
Use the hand mixer and mix for a minute or two to break and start whipping the whipped soap base.
Add the jojoba oil, Vitamin E oil, the Honey I Washed the Kids fragrance oil if you plan to use it, and Lavender EO. Then mix well for another five to seven minutes using the hand mixer.
Mixing for five to seven minutes will incorporate air into the mix and will create the light and fluffy consistency of the whipped soap. Be patient, it is absolutely worth it.
Other oils I have used for whipped soap that are also great for the skin and can be used as a replacement for the jojoba oil are sweet almond oil, rice bran oil, and grapeseed oil – all great for the skin with wonderful moisturizing properties. Rice bran oil is a wonderful replacement as it is also high in Vitamin E.
Separate the whipped soap into two parts and add the mica colorant to one half and the sea clay to the other half. Incorporate the mica and the sea clay using a spatula.
To pipe the whipped soap into the jars and keep the colors separate, place the two colors of whipped soap side by side on a cling wrap. Then insert the soap into a piping bag and pipe the whipped soap into the saving jars.
Use it as often as you want. This is just a great treat for the shower or bath.
