Eucalyptus and Spearmint Sugar Scrub DIY

How to make Eucalyptus & Spearmint Sugar Scrub

Eucalyptus and Spearmint Sugar Scrub

Sugar scrubs are a fantastic way to add moisture to the skin while also exfoliating.  This eucalyptus and spearmint sugar scrub is great for a gentle exfoliation of the skin allowing new beautiful skin to shine through.  It is also very moisturizing and with the essential oils is great for cooling the skin.  I love using it as it also smells amazing and open my sinus every time I smell it.  Sometimes I enjoy smelling how wonderful this combination is and how refreshing it is.

I also love the fact that creating my own sugar scrub allows me to know exactly what is in my skin care items and make sure that nothing toxic is used.

Ingredients and other materials:

Eucalyptus and spearmint sugar scrub

  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1/4 cup of coconut oil
  • 1 oz jojoba oil
  • 3 drops each of eucalyptus and spearmint essential oils (visit this page for my recommended essential oils)
  • mica colorants (optional)
  • 4 oz mason jar

This Eucalyptus and Spearmint sugar scrub is very simple to make and the basic recipe includes only three ingredients.  I added mica colorants to this batch however these are absolutely optional but I like the color, contrast, and aesthetic view.

Super easy step by step sugar scrubs

First, combine the coconut and jojoba oils with a spoon. If you are using essential oils, add them and mix well.

Then add the sugar and combine well with the spoon.

At this point, I separated in half and added the mica colorants mixing them well with the sugar scrub.Eucalyptus and Spearmint Sugar ScrubI used a cake decorating bag and added both green colors of the sugar scrub to each side and finally piped it inside the mason jar.  Make sure to store in an air tight container.

These turned out really wonderful.  If you want some additional inspiration to try other fragrances or essential oils in sugar scrubs I had created some long time ago in lemon, lavender, peppermint and coffee.  You can check out that post here.

I hope you give a try at making sugar scrubs, its fun!  Let me know how you like it and what variations you make.

Hi Andrea, thank you for stopping by. I recommend adding the essential oils to the mix of coconut oil and jojoba oil and mix well. Then combine with the sugar.
