How to make Eucalyptus & Spearmint Sea Salt body cleanser
Salt scrubs are great to exfoliate and moisturize the skin around those hard areas such as knees, elbows, and feet. I love using this Himalayan sea salt exfoliating cleanser because it provides both the cleaning action as well as the exfoliation and softness that help keep great healthy skin.

This eucalyptus and spearmint salt scrub is great for gentle exfoliation of the skin because it uses fine ground sea salt. With the addition of golden jojoba oil, this cleanser and scrub bring back some moisture to the skin. I love using it as it also smells amazing and it opens my sinus every time I smell it. It is absolutely wonderful for a refreshing bath or shower.
I also love the fact that making my own salt scrub allows me to know exactly what is in my skincare items and I can research all the benefits for my skin.
Ingredients and other materials:
- 4 ounces whipped soap base (head over to my post on how to make your own whipped soap base)
- 2 ounces fine grain Himalayan sea salt
- 1 oz jojoba oil
- 3 drops each of eucalyptus and spearmint essential oils (visit this page for my recommended essential oils)
- mica colorants (optional)
- 2 – 4 oz mason jar
This Eucalyptus and Spearmint salt scrub cleanser is very simple to make and the basic recipe includes only three ingredients. I added mica colorants to this batch however these are absolutely optional but I like the color, contrast, and aesthetic view. The essential oils are also optional and can be replaced with your favorite essential oil. I love the refreshing scent of eucalyptus and spearmint, especially in the summer after a full day at the beach.
Super easy step by step salt scrubs
First combine the whipped soap base and jojoba oils and mix using a hand mixer for three to five minutes.
Add the salt, mica colorant, and essential oils and mix for another one to two minutes.
Lastly, spoon the salt scrub into the mason jar for saving. I like saving in small containers that I can take to the shower and use as needed.
This salt scrub turned out really wonderful. I prefer to use this salt scrub cleanser on my knees and my feet after a long day at the beach or gardening. This also makes a great handmade gift idea for friends and family.
As you can see I did not add a preservative for this salt scrub, however, if you plan to make a larger batch that can take over a month to use I recommend you include a preservative, I recommend this one.
