Today I want to share another great and short DIY using melt and pour soap. This fall tropical leaves melt and pour soap uses a fun Monstera leaves soap mold that I purchased recently. I love using unique molds and saw this one and I had to have it. Also, as I mentioned in some of the most recent DIY’s I recently received some fragrance oils from a company and I have been using them to test in my favorite DIYs. Melt and pour soaps are great for a creative fun afternoon and a great idea to create seasonal soaps to use and decorate.

In this super fun fall-themed, fall tropical leaves melt and pour soap DIY you will have a lovely soap within a couple of hours. In this DIY I share how to use the double-layer technique to make beautiful handmade soaps.
For this fall tropical leaves melt and pour soap I am using a double layer technique and a single color on the second layer. This double layer technique for melt and pour soap can be used in any soap mold; even a milk carton box will work.
There are so many wonderful melt and pour soap bases that I love and use. I’ve listed some of my favorites below. For this fall-themed tropical leaves melt and pour soap DIY I chose the honey melt and pour base and the shea butter soap base. The honey soap base has a lovely amber/fall color. I used a dark pink color mica on the shea butter soap base that still shows a lovely pastel pink.

How to make fall-themed tropical leaves melt and pour soap
There are only a few steps to this DIY but the final product is perfectly beautiful.
Start by cutting the honey melt and pour soap base into small cubes and melt in the microwave using 30-second intervals.
The honey melt and pour soap base has a beautiful amber color. For this fall tropical leaves melt and pour soap DIY I decided to not add any color to this layer.
Pour the honey soap base into the molds and allow it to cool to approximately 90 degrees F. Allow for a thin layer to form on the top before pouring the next layer.
Then cut and melt the shea butter soap base.
Add the angry rose color mica to the melted shea butter soap base and mix well using a spoon.
Make sure that the honey soap layer is cool to the touch and has formed a thin layer.
Spray the honey soap with rubbing alcohol generously. This step is critical, this is what is going to help adhere the layers together.
Carefully pour the shea butter soap base soap over the honey soap layer. Use a spoon to break the pressure of the pour to ensure that the bottom layer is not broken. This will ensure the two layers are distinct and separate.
Allow the soaps to cool for a couple of hours.
Unmold the fall-themed tropical leaves melt and pour soaps and enjoy.
Tips and troubleshooting melt and pour soaps DIY
It is a good idea to keep a spray bottle with rubbing alcohol readily available when making melt and pour soaps. This can be used to remove the bubbles at the top of the soap and also aid in adhering layers. If you are using a double-pour technique, make sure to spray some rubbing alcohol at the end to remove any bubbles that may have formed.
This soap is not only gorgeous I love the beautiful amber color from the honey soap and how perfect it is for fall.
