I’ve been working on a collection of whipped soap ideas to share in this blog. The first post in the four installment collection was the Coffee and Brown Sugar Whipped Soap Scrub. Today I want to share yet another variation. This shea butter whipped soap recipe is absolutely wonderful. Shea butter is great for the skin, it has a high content of vitamins A and E and other moisturizing properties. Shea butter is also anti-inflammatory and very soothing.

If you have made some of my other whipped soap recipes before this one is definitely another one to try. Or start with this one and you’ll definitely see how easy it is to work and use whipped soap. I recommend using this shea butter variation all year long but with the extra shea butter skin loving properties, I think it is also perfect for the dry winter months.
I like using the foaming bath butter because it can take various oils and butters without impacting its creamy lather. It whips fairly quickly and it is just a great base for many different creations. And make lots and lots of creamy bubbles. I’ve also made a similar recipe in my post on how to make whipped soap base from scratch that is just as wonderful and another easy DIY.
This Falling in Love shea butter whipped soap is just wonderful. You will certainly fall in love with how delightful it feels on the skin.
Ingredients and materials for the Shea Butter whipped soap
- 12 oz foaming bath butter
- 1.5 oz Shea Butter
- 1 tbsp Vegetable Glycerin
- 1 tsp Vitamin E Oil
- 4 ml Fragrance (I used Falling in Love Fragrance Oil)
- 1/8 tsp Mica soap colorants (I used a Dark Purple and a pink color micas)
- Hand mixer
- Mixing bowls
- 3 – 4 oz Plastic Bail Jars
How to make Falling in Love Shea Butter whipped soap
Separate 12 ounces from the foaming bath butter soap base container and place in a mixing blow. Weigh out 1.5 ounces of shea butter and add to the mixing bowl along with the vegetable glycerin and vitamin E oil . Whip the ingredients together for five to seven minutes.
Once the base has been whipped for a few minutes add the falling in love fragrance if using. Continue to mix for another two to three minutes.
Shea butter has a nutty and very earthy aroma. This smell may linger in the whipped soap even after adding the fragrance. I enjoy the earthy smell of the shea butter and find it adds depth to the fragrance. This is something to consider when getting the ingredients for this DIY. I recommend the organic shea butter but the refined, deodorized shea butter has the same skin loving properties as the organic shea butter without the earthy aroma.
How to color the super skin loving shea butter whipped soap
Separate about a third of the whipped soap in a small bowl. Add 1/8 tsp of the deep purple mica and mix with a spatula until fully combined.
Add 1/4 tsp of the pink color mica to the other two-thirds of the shea butter whipped soap. Mix well using the spatula. You can also incorporate it with the hand mixer.
Transfer the whipped soap to cling wrap. This will help with getting the whipped soap into the piping bag easier and gives it the lovely frosting look. For this soap, I placed the deep purple color in the middle and added the lovely pink color to the sides. The deep purple color turned out to look a pale gray color but it is still very beautiful.
Close together the ends of the cling wrap and insert into the piping bag.
Lastly, pipe the Falling in Love whipped soap into the bail jars. Make sure to spritz some rubbing alcohol in the bail jars and let it air dry before piping the shea butter whipped soap. Another option is to scoop the soap into the bail jars in alternating colors. That will also create a lovely contrast to the soap.
I hope you enjoyed this easy super skin loving shea butter whipped soap idea. I have added a list of other whipped soap DIY projects I’ve made at the end of this post for more gorgeous ideas. There are exfoliating whipped soaps and whipped sugar scrubs DIY ideas to try.
These turned out gorgeous and the fragrance is just perfect for the lovely colors.

Can I use anything in place of the vegetable glycerin in the whipped soap recipe?
jasmine@eccentricitiesbyjvg.com says
Hello Gloria, other natural products with humectant properties are honey and aloe vera. These can be used in small amounts as well. If you are using aloe vera or honey, I recommend using a preservative as well because of the additional water content (Optiphen Plus).
You can also omit the vegetable glycerin completely if you want to.

Ok! Thank uou very much!

Could sugar or salt also be added to this recipe, or would that be too much with the shea butter?
Also, I have phenonip preservative, would that be a sufficient preservative, or is optiphen plus better?
jasmine@eccentricitiesbyjvg.com says
Yes, you can always turn this whipped soap into a body scrub by adding salt or sugar. I think it will be great with only a few ounces in weight of the sugar or salt, start with 1/4 of the weight of the amount of soap and then add more to your liking. My favorite preservative is optiphen plus but phenonip will be good as well.

Just wondering how much soap does this recipe make?

Hello, thank you for your question. This recipe makes 15 ounces of whipped soap.
Sabrina Sparkman says
Hello, I was wondering if this shea butter whipped soap recipe can be made thin enough to go into a squeeze bottle and what I could use to thin it out? Thanks!
jasmine@eccentricitiesbyjvg.com says
Hello, you can try adding cocamidopropyl betaine also known as Bubble up to make it more fluid. I have not tried it but I use the ingredient for bath bombs and bath truffles.
