I am sharing a simple handmade hot chocolate recipe below to go with these fun and unique handmade mugs. I hope you try it.
Easy Homemade Hot Chocolate
- 2 cups of whole milk (or 2% is fine as well)
- 2 cups of coconut milk
- 1/4 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar (replace with the equivalent of Splenda or monk fruit if you do not use sugar – remember that Splenda and monk fruit amount will be significantly smaller, make sure to check the label for equivalent values)
- 1/4 cup of semisweet or bittersweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract
Place the milk in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Using the combination of whole milk and coconut milk instead of water makes this hot chocolate extra creamy and flavorful.
Whisk in the cocoa powder and sugar, and heat until warm.
Once the milk is warm, add chocolate chips, whisking until they melt into the milk.
Add the vanilla extract.
Serve immediately, topped with your favorite garnishes: marshmallows, whipped cream, chopped chocolate, crushed candy canes, and more.

It is hard to choose but I think this one is my favorite of all is the three toed sloth stoneware coffee mug it reminds me of our family trip to Costa Rica. I love how in so many cases small things can bring memories of wonderful experiences. That is the beauty of appreciating the small things in life.
