By now you know how much I love making soaps. Its been several years since I’ve bought soap at stores because I absolutely enjoy making soap and have so many different melt and pour soap bases, micas and fragrances that I want to use. To me is not only a way to relax and a great hobby, I know I can have a natural, unique and artistic product each time. These handmade floral soaps are beautiful and so lovely on the skin.

Ingredients and Materials
- Aloe vera melt and pour soap base
- Honey melt and pour soap base
- Color blocks in pink and purple
- Alcohol
- Soap cutter
- Measuring cup
- Spoons
- Floral mold
- Essential oils or soap fragrance (optional)
First start by cutting the soap in small squares and place in the microwave safe measuring cup. Add a small piece of the pink color block to the measuring cup with the soap. Place in the microwave and melt in 30 second intervals until fully melted.
Make sure to watch the soap and do not allow it to boil. I have noticed that if it is allowed to overheat and start boiling the soap base makes less bubbles.
Add the fragrance or essential oil if using and mix well using the spoon.
The next step is to place the mold at an angle and pour the first layer of the soap.
Then allow the first layer of soap to cool to at least 90 degrees F before pouring the next layer.
For the next layer of soap cut the aloe vera melt and pour soap base in squares just as described above and add a small piece of the purple color block. In this case I did a layer of purple and some of the soaps with a darker layer of pink.
Place the mold flat and pour the second layer. To pour the second layer make sure to pour at a temperature below 130 degrees F to make sure that the initial layer is not melted when pouring. Also, make sure to spritz the soap with alcohol, this will help with the layers adhering to each other.
I finished up the last layer with the honey melt and pour soap base with a touch of pink and purple mixed in with the soap for another fun and beautiful color.
Allow the soaps to cool for a few hours and voila, a lovely set of floral hand soaps to enjoy!
I was able to unmold these soaps in less than an hour. The mold I used make these beautiful raised flowers and mandala style decorations that are lovely for hand soaps.
The floral soaps can also make a great gift for mother’s day or Valentine’s Day. These handmade floral soaps are not only beautiful but also very affordable.
Using these natural melt and pour soap bases is great and I use them often because they are incredibly flexible and I can make so many different types of soaps with just a mold, changing the colors, fragrance and the type of pour.
I love these handmade floral soaps and how they turned out. I hope you get to try and make these soaps too.
