I love the smell of lavender in the house. Its aroma is so grounding and relaxing. and I love all things DIY so making candles is one of my favorite things to do. I explore ideas for perfect combinations of aromas and have been pleasantly surprised with my most recent creations. For these candles the combination of the lavender with the floral smell of Paris nights make for a beautiful aroma.

- 8 oz natural soy wax chips
- 5 natural candle wicks
- natural lavender buds

- floral fragrance (optional), the lavender smell is great on its own.
- 5 cupcake liners
- cupcake mold
- glass or aluminum jar for melting soy wax chips in double boiler
How to make Lavender and floral soy wax candles
I enjoy making candles and experimenting with the different aromas, I use the essential oils for the aromatherapy properties and wide range of combinations that will create the most beautiful aromas.
Fist melt the soy wax chips in a double boiler.
Allow to cool for a few minutes. After the soy wax chips are fully melted mix in the lavender essential oil and fragrance.
One of my favorite fragrances is the Paris nights. I used that fragrance as well in these candles. The Paris nights combined with the lavender smells earthy and floral and gives the mood of a strolling along the Paris night and romance in the air.
Add some of the lavender flowers and mix well before pouring the melted wax into the cupcake liners in the mold. I added a few more flowers after I poured the wax in the liner to fill most of the top surface and give a beautiful look to these candles.
Insert the candle wick and allow the candles to fully harden and cool. You can also place a small adhesive dot at the bottom of the candle wicks and place inside the cupcake lines before pouring. Since the candles are so short it did not make a difference for these cupcake style candles.
Once the candles are hardened and cooled remove from the mold and remove the cupcake liner.
Cut the candle wick to approximately 1/4 to 1/2 inch from the candle up.
Enjoy the lovely aroma of the lavender soy wax candles
I love how these ones turned out with the addition of the lavender flowers. They look so beautiful, and smell amazing.
I love the lovely aroma in my kitchen after this project.
I did not add any colors to the candles since I like the white and wanted to highlight the lavender flowers.
These candles are not only beautiful, they smell amazing.

Jasmine,
Even I could make candles following your directions. Great photography and excellent tutorial. Do you use containers other than cupcake papers to make candles?
We would love for you to include a link back to Monday Social when you share your creativity.
