In this post, I want to share my process for creating a Christmas card in the new Affinity V3, as this version has completely changed the way I work. The best part is that it’s now free for everyone, forever. Anyone can download it and start creating right away. I’ve used Photoshop for years, and shared my process in an earlier post, but the latest Affinity release simply feels more flexible and more versatile. Instead of jumping between programs, I can stay in one place and move seamlessly between vector tools, pixel editing, and layout capabilities for books and journals. That alone has made a huge difference in my workflow, especially for some of my favorite projects, like holiday cards. In the video, I walk through my entire process step-by-step, from cleaning up my watercolor poinsettias to arranging them into a polished Christmas card design, all within the same app.

My goal is to show that you don’t need expensive software or a complicated setup to create something beautiful and heartfelt. If you’ve ever wanted to design your own cards for friends and family, this is the perfect chance to give it a try. Affinity V3 removes the barriers, keeps the tools powerful, and makes the creative process feel more accessible. I hope watching my process inspires you to explore the app, experiment with your own ideas, and enjoy making something meaningful this season.
