The mango seed butter has so many wonderful skin properties, it is rich in antioxidants and emollients as well as Vitamins A and E. The avocado oil is also full of vitamins and some studies suggest it may also help protect the skin from sun damage.
I love this whipped mango and avocado whipped body butter. It is super luxurious, light on the skin and very moisturizing. I added satsuma fragrance oil and it is just so refreshing and energizing.
I use arrowroot powder in all my body butter formulations. It is the ingredient that help make the body butter feel luxurious on the skin and not feel greasy at all.
Ingredients to make the whipped mango and avocado body butter
- 5.6 oz mango butter
- 2.2 oz avocado oil
- 0.1 oz vitamin E oil
- 2 tsp of arrowroot powder
- 0.1 oz of fragrance – this is optional (I used Satsuma for this recipe)
- Hand mixer
- Mixing bowls
How to make mango and avocado whipped body butter
Melt the mango butter using the double boiler method. You can also melt the mango butter using the microwave. I recommend the double boiler method because you can have more control and remove from the heat as soon as there are only a few pieces left and finish melting by mixing with a spatula. That way you can better control the temperature that the butter is exposed to.
Once the mango butter is fully melted add the avocado oil, vitamin E oil and the fragrance oils if using. Then place in the refrigerator for a couple of hours or in the freezer for about half an hour. This will help solidify the mango butter and have the consistency needed to whip the body butter.
The fragrance for this super luxurious mango and avocado body butter is is optional. However, I love the refreshing scent and since I plan to use this body butter during the summer time I think is just perfect.
Start by whipping the body butter using the hand mixer for a couple of minutes to start incorporating some air. Then add the arrowroot powder and continue to whip for 5 to 7 minutes until the body butter is light and fluffy and has the whipped consistency. I decided to add a bit of orange color mica to match the lovely scent of this body butter but this is completely optional.
What a wonderful body butter texture!
Keep in mind that with the whipping of the body butter will increase its volume. Use a large enough bowl for this recipe.
Transfer the whipped mango and avocado body butter to your favorite container and use as needed. Either glass or plastic container will work. Make sure to use an air tight seal container and it will help with keeping the body butter longer. Keep the body butter in a cool place and use as needed.
I’ve made this recipe several times and it works just wonderful. I absolutely love it.
Something to keep in mind when making body butters is the temperature in the room. If you are making this recipe in a hot environment, and the body butter is getting too soft, place the body butter back in the refrigerator for a couple of hours then try whipping it again.
This recipe is a 70/30 hard to soft oils or butters. It will solidify in a cool environment due to the amount of mango butter in this recipe, however it will melt absolutely wonderful once you rub in on your skin.
How to store and save the whipped mango and avocado body butter
To store this mango and avocado body butter keep in a cool room and use as needed. The body butter will have a shelf life of the shorter shelf life of the ingredients used. In this case the shorter shelf life is that of the avocado oil and it is usually about a year.
I absolutely love the way this whipped body butter turned out. I love making body butters for my family and to gift to friends as well. You have a beautiful blog except for all the ads. I just don’t get why people litter blogs with ads.

Hello, this body butter can be used in the face, however I have never used a body butter in my face so I cannot give any additional feedback. The ingredients used are considered non comedogenic which should not clog pores. I would recommend to try in a small area first. I do recommend this body butter for arms, elbows, legs, it is a great body butter to try.
