Marble Design Technique for Cold Process Soapmaking for Gorgeous Soap Designs

There are so many design techniques when it comes to cold process soap making and with a creative mind the sky is the limit. Today I am sharing a lovely marble design technique for cold process soaps that makes gorgeous soaps. If you are looking for inspiration for your next cold process soap or want to try a new technique this cold process soap making technique is perfect for you.

In this soap making video I tried a modified method for doing a marble design technique for cold process soap. I love the way it turned out. I was testing the new mold that my husband made for me and learned that I have to modify the recipe to scale up to get the size bars that I want and also cut differently.

I think these lovely lady soaps ended up being a bit chunky but still beautiful with the marble design technique for cold process soaps. The fragrance behaved very well for this type of pour. When trying this marble soap design technique, it is essential to use a fragrance that behaves well and allows enough time for this design. The fragrance I used in this soap is a duplicate of a perfume that I like very much. The name of the fragrance is Che Bella Donna from Nature’s Garden.

For this type of design, it is important to select contrasting colors so that you can actually see the marbling. In this case, I chose a beautiful pale pink and a gray mica. The pink mica is ballet slippers from Mad Micas and the gray color mica used for the mica lines is neutral gray from Nurture Soap.

A few tips on making the marble design soaps:

When mixing the oils and the lye water solution use a whisk instead of the immersion blender. This will help get the soap to emulsion and you will be able to split the soap, add colorants and have enough time for the various layers in the design.

Make sure to add a mica line after a few layers of the main colors, this will ensure you have a good mica line throughout the soap and still look wonderful as it is used.

For the darker color mica, it is best to add it mixed with a small amount of oil instead of the dry mica. This will give a gorgeous look as it is dispersed when the other layers are added.
