Caribbean flavors and memories of love!
This is one of my favorite pastries, without a doubt these guava pastry puffs are so delicious. I absolutely love them and every time I eat them my memory goes back to the beautiful island where I am from and I remember my childhood, eating guava right out of the tree in my grandmother’s backyard. When I close my eyes and smell the guava, I find myself in that backyard in a very relaxed outfit and flip-flops enjoying eating as many guavas as I could fit in during one sitting. What a wonderful memory and what a wonderful flavor… you are in for a treat of sweet Caribbean flavor!

Ingredients for the Guava Pastry Puffs:
- 1 box of Puff Pastry Sheets
- 21 oz can of Guava paste
- Powder sugar to sprinkle on top
- Water
This recipe makes enough for the family to enjoy about 30 to 35 Guava pastry puffs.
Melt the guava paste with a 1/4 cup of water. This will take about 12 minutes at very low heat and will give a very smooth paste to easily scoop into the pastry puffs.
Cut the sheets of pastry puff about 1 1/2 inch thick and place on a cookie sheet, bake for 15 minutes. It may take an extra 2-3 minutes depending on the oven heat.
Fill the pastry puffs with the melted guava paste and sprinkle powdered sugar. This was a family endeavor and the 6 year old was responsible for the sprinkling of the powder sugar. The sweeter the better!
These guava pastry puffs are certainly a great treat and dessert with delicious tropical flavors. You will not be able to eat only one! It is amazing how a simple memory and a few ingredients can bring a great opportunity for building even more beautiful moments of love!
I hope you enjoy making this delicious treat and have a great time with the family… as much as I did.

I love guava as someone that was born on the island. It’s one of my favorite fruits. My mother would send us to pick guavas so that she could make guava paste. We couldn’t wait for it to be done. One question what do you use for filling the pastry puff with? Thank you

Those are wonderful memories, I remember eating guavas out of the tree when I was at my grandmother’s house. I use a guava paste, it is a Goya Guava Paste that comes in a round metal container. You can find it here https://amzn.to/3sOYGad. I hope you make them soon. Let me know how those turn out.
