How to make Oatmeal and Honey Solid Sugar Scrub
These Oatmeal and Honey sugar scrub cups and squares and are perfect for a mild exfoliation. Both oatmeal and honey are great for the skin. This sugar scrub is hardened because of the use of the melt and pour soap base which make these perfect to use in the shower. These solid sugar scrubs keep very well in an air tight container or plastic bag. Once ready to use just grab one and break it apart in your hands and use as regular soap. These are great for the skin due to the mild exfoliation from both the sugar and the oatmeal.

Ingredients and materials for Oatmeal & Honey solid sugar scrub
- 9 oz granulated sugar
- 4.5 oz Honey melt and pour soap base
- 3 oz jojoba oil, (you can also use sweet almond oil, grapeseed oil or avocado oil)
- 1.5 ml Oatmeal, Milk and Honey fragrance oil
- 2 Tbsp Oats
- soap mold
- pipette
- medium size bowl
- microwave safe measuring cups
I used honey soap base for this sugar scrub but you can also use a clear soap base and add a teaspoon of honey once the soap base is melted. I also love using the natural aloe vera soap base which will also be great for this project.
Step by Step Oatmeal and Honey sugar scrub cups and squares
First make sure to cut the honey soap base in small cubes, place in a microwave safe cup and melt in 30 second intervals until fully melted.
After the soap is fully melted incorporate the jojoba oil and the Oatmeal, Milk and Honey fragrance if using. I love using jojoba oil over some of the other carriers oil because of its wonderful properties. Another good replacement is rice bran oil because of its skin benefitting properties.
In a separate bowl weigh the sugar and oats. Then add the oats and the sugar to the melted soap and quickly mix to incorporate fully. After fully mixed, pour in your favorite soap mold. Allow to cool for a few hours before unmolding the Oatmeal and Honey sugar scrub.
This Oatmeal and Honey sugar scrub can be saved in an air tight container and use as needed.
The Oatmeal, Milk and Honey fragrance in this sugar scrub gives a great aroma for fall, but I use it any time of the year because it smells amazing.
This sugar scrub can be made in multiple variations for the different seasons. I have made a Grapefruit Sugar Scrub that is great for the summer with such a refreshing and uplifting aroma. For the grapefruit sugar scrubs I used essential oil which can be a great alternative if you don’t want to use fragrance oils.
When using fragrance oils I always make sure that I purchase phthalate free fragrance oils. These are not only better for you but also for the environment.
Other solid sugar scrub projects you may like:

Lavender and Mint sugar scrub cubes to keep at home all year long. I absolutely love lavender essential oil and use almost daily.
I hope you give these a try. You skin will love it!

Hey there, how many bars does this make at a time for the ingredients listed? I know it will vary by mold but on average. I’m trying to figure out cost per bar.
Thank you!!!

Hello, this is a small batch. For this specific DIY I was able to make 8 small bars of approximately 1 ounce each. I hope this helps.
