I’ve visited France twice and every time I visit I am so in awe and inspired by the beauty, the vibrance and the wonderful energy. Paris is just full of wonderful inspiration for art and projects that will bring some of the Parisian energy to home decor. Today I went to Joann store and was inspired by a beautiful Paris, France stamps fabric. I wanted to use it right away and decided to make some vintage coasters with a small section of it.

I wanted to make a craft that can be made fairly quickly and let my imagination run with ideas of other crafts to work on at a later time with the rest of the fabric. Hopefully a larger project later on.
DIY coasters are very easy to make, it does not take long to do the full project from beginning to end and you have a very practical piece of art that is used in almost every household.
These new coasters can be used in a French Country style décor or vintage style décor. I used tiles that I had from the dollar store and mod podge, which I always have on hand!
How to make vintage Paris stamps fabric coasters
To make these coasters first cut the fabric in squares the same size as the coasters.
Attach the fabric to an old set of tile coasters (in this case from the dollar store) using mod podge. Allow to dry and seal the surface with an additional coat of mod podge or sealant.
I gave these coasters a vintage look by finishing some edges with a light cream chalk paint. The chalk paint also covered some of the edges where I was not 100% straight when cutting the fabric. Next time, I’ll try my silhouette with a new cutting mat, I think it will make it so much easier and faster!
Below is a picture of the semifinal product – pending a final coat of sealant to completely seal the surface since these will be a gift that I plan to give away in the next few days.
I look forward to gifting these and hope they like and use these coasters often. As with every craft that I make I put a whole lotta love and hope it brings joy to the home.
Since I was inspired and had a few extra tiles that I could use, and lots of beautiful scrapbook paper I was able to make an additional set of six coasters in the same stamps theme. I absolutely love the look! They came out perfect. I hope you like them too.
The picture is a bit dark, I got so excited about the project and it was already dark when I finished.
Enjoy and let your imagination run wild with creativity. You’ll be amazed at the things you can create!
My Autumn Leaves Wood Coasters is another DIY coaster that you can create and a fun fall project for more inspiration.
