Whipped sugar scrubs are so versatile and you can make one variation as unique as each member of the family and a different one for every season.
The whipped soap base is super luxurious on the skin and is also great for keeping the skin moisturized. The added organic shea butter adds a layer of great moisture without impacting the lather. For this recipe, I also added vegetable glycerin which is a humectant and attracts moisture to the skin for even more skin benefits.
With the extra oils, colors and fragrance you can create a different variation for any occasion. Today I am sharing a whipped soap scrub using sugar for mild exfoliation.
The whip soap base can be made easily in advance or made it as part of this DIY as well following the DIY Whip Soap Base post. In this DIY I used my other favorite purchased whipped soap base. I have tons of this available at home for any time I want to make a quick variation of whipped soap. The whipped soap base is known as a foaming bath butter. It is fantastic and makes lots of creamy bubbles and can take additional oils and butters without impacting its efficacy and lather.
Making whipped sugar scrubs using the soap base is very easy and only requires a few additional ingredients to create a unique and wonderful product.

How to make Peach, Grapefruit and Thyme whipped soap sugar scrub
The foaming whipped soap base comes in a sealed plastic container and looks a lot like regular melt and pour soap base but is softer and easy to whip.
Separate 4 ounces from the foaming bath butter soap base container and whip for approximately two to three minutes. It will start to fluff and will be easier to whip.
In a microwave safe measuring cup melt together the honey melt and pour soap base and the organic shea butter. Use 30 second intervals and finish melting any small pieces by mixing with a spatula.
Once the base has been whipped for a few minutes add the shea butter and honey soap mix, the vegetable glycerin and vitamin E oil and whip for a few more minutes to fully incorporate.
Add the peach, grapefruit, and thyme fragrance oil or your favorite essential oil if using. Continue to whip for another two to three minutes until fully combined and enough air is incorporated to get a fluffy consistency.
Other oils that are great for this recipe and great for the skin that can replace the shea butter are sweet almond oil, olive oil or rice bran oil.
Lastly, add the sugar to the soap and mix just enough to combine.
How to color the super skin loving peach, grapefruit and thyme whipped soap scrub
Split the sugar scrub into two equal parts into separate mixing bowls. Add the mica colorant to each mixing bowl. I chose pink and orange micas for this DIY; I think they go well with the lovely aroma of the peach, grapefruit and thyme scent.
Mix in the mica by whipping the soap for a few more minutes. I like to combine the mica colorants using a spatula first to avoid creating a cloud of colorant in the air. Then mix with the hand mixer to fully combine.
Lastly, transfer the peach, grapefruit and thyme whipped soap sugar scrub into the jars. Spritz some rubbing alcohol in the jars before adding the sugar scrub. Let it air dry before transferring the whipped soap scrub into the jars.
