This rosemary mint whipped soap DIY is great to make any time of the year but I love it in spring and summer. I love the fun combination of gold and green colors and the wonderful aroma of rosemary and mint is just wonderfully refreshing. For this rosemary mint whipped soap DIY I give you two options for the scent. You can use a lovely fragrance oil from a reputable soap-making company or essential oils. I’ve used both and whichever you choose will give you a fantastic whipped soap. The gorgeous green and gold colors are perfect for spring as well as summer. I also added some golden bursting beads for mild exfoliation as well as to enhance the design. This whipped soap is light on the skin I am sure you will feel pampered every time you use it.

Making whipped soap is one of my favorite things to do because it is very easy to make once you have a good soap base. I have another DIY whipped soap base from scratch that you can make to use in this DIY. Otherwise, I have a recommendation for one of my store-bought favorites in the list of ingredients below. Making whipped soap is also a fun project to make with friends and family and a great gift idea for a handmade gift.
The scent I selected for this version of the whipped soap is called rosemary mint. It is a lovely scent with natural earthy notes. It is perfect for other skin care projects such as body butters, creams, and lotions. It is very refreshing and light.
In this formulation, I’ve added my favorite unrefined organic shea butter. I prefer unrefined shea butter, I love the earthy aroma and don’t mind the color. However, some of you have asked for other options and I recommend getting the refined shea butter. The refined shea butter retains the properties but removes the scent and color and it is still a great option to use. You can also replace the shea butter with kokum butter or mango butter. Shea butter is highly moisturizing and some studies suggest that it can also soothe skin problems and is high in antioxidants which can have anti-aging properties.
Rosemary Mint Whipped Soap DIY Ingredients and Materials
- 4 oz foaming bath butter
- 0.5 oz Golden Jojoba Oil
- 1 tsp Vitamin E Oil
- 1 oz Shea Butter
- 2 ml Rosemary Mint fragrance oil or Essential oils ( 5 drops of Rosemary + 2 drops of Spearmint)
- 1/8 tsp Mica soap colorants in shimmering gold and light green
- Hand mixer
- Mixing bowls
- 4 oz jars with lid
- gold bursting beads
How to make rosemary mint whipped soap
Separate 4 ounces from the foaming bath butter soap base container and place in a mixing bowl.
Whip for a minute or two to break it apart.
Add the golden jojoba oil, vitamin E, and the fragrance or essential oils if you plan to use them, and mix well for another five minutes.
In a separate microwave-safe container separate one ounce of shea butter. Melt the shea butter in the microwave using 30-second intervals.
Once the shea butter is fully melted add it to the soap mix and mix well for another five to seven minutes. This will incorporate air into the mix and will create the light and fluffy consistency of the whipped soap.
Other oils I have used for whipped soap that are also great for the skin and can be used as a replacement for the jojoba oil are sweet almond oil and grapeseed oil – both great for the skin. Even some rice bran oil will be a suitable replacement as it is also high in Vitamin E.
How to color the rosemary mint whipped soap
Separate the rosemary mint whipped soap into 2 equal parts. Add the mica colorants in green and gold into each of the whipped soap containers.
Combine the mica colorants using a spatula.
To pipe the whipped soap into the jars and keep the colors separate, place the green and gold whipped soap in a large piece of cling wrap in a line next to each other. Then fold and insert into a piping bag.
Lastly, pipe the whipped soap into the saving jars.
Use it as often as you want. This is just a great treat for the shower or bath.
Perfect as a gift whipped soap!
In addition to it being a great skin-loving shower treat to make for yourself, this whipped soap can be a great hostess favor or bridesmaid favor.
