For this sea shells melt and pour soap I am using a double pour technique and one color mica. I am using a sea shells plastic mold but you can use any mold you have on hand; even a milk carton box will work.

Ingredients needed to make the sea shells melt and pour soap including the soap base, mica colorant, sea shells mold and sea sponge.

There are so many wonderful melt and pour soap bases that I love to use. I’ve listed some below. For this sea shells melt and pour soap DIY I chose the aloe vera melt and pour base and a shea butter base. The aloe vera soap base is clear and the mica colorants show bright and beautiful. I left the shea butter base uncolored to give the sea shell soaps a two color appearance.

Tips and troubleshooting sea shells melt and pour soaps DIY

It is a good idea to keep a spray bottle with rubbing alcohol readily available when making melt and pour soaps. This can be used to remove the bubbles at the top of the soap and also aid in adhering layers. If making layers of soap instead of a double pour, make sure to spray some rubbing alcohol before adding the layers.

This soap is not only gorgeous I love the bright colors and how perfect it is for summer, a trip to the beach or just to change the bathroom decor.
