Melt and pour soap making is a fun and creative hobby that anyone can enjoy. It is easy to start with and learn different techniques before taking on more complex soap making such as making cold process soaps. Today I want to share a Spring Flower Garden Melt and Pour soap DIY. This spring themed melt and pour soap uses a fun flower garden soap mold that I’ve had for several years and I love the size and design. Melt and pour soaps are great for a creative fun afternoon and a great idea to create seasonal soaps to use and decorate. Also, great to bring a unique hand soap for each season and theme.

These flower garden soaps are also the perfect size for gifts as well. Melt and pour soaps can be used immediately after the soaps are cooled and hardened which is usually within a couple of hours depending on the type and size of soap you are making. It is also a great project to work with kids and get their creative juices flowing. In this super fun spring-themed, flower garden melt and pour soap DIY you will have a lovely soap within a couple of hours. In this DIY I share how to use the double-layer technique and double-pour technique to make beautiful handmade soaps.
For this flower garden melt and pour soap I am using a double layer technique for the green bottom of the soap. The top of the soap is done using the double pour technique which makes lovely unique designs for each soap. These techniques can be used in combination or one at a time in your soap making.
There are so many wonderful melt and pour soap bases that I love and use. I’ve listed some of my favorites below. For this spring-themed flower garden melt and pour soap DIY I chose the honey melt and pour base for the bottom of the soap and the shea butter soap base for the flowers. The honey soap base has a lovely amber color.
Melt and Pour soap bases that are great to work with and perfect for DIY handcrafted soaps
- Oatmeal soap base
- Goats milk soap base
- Shea butter soap base
- Honey soap base

Spring Flower Garden melt and pour soap DIY ingredients and materials
- 4 oz Honey soap base
- 7 oz Shea Butter soap base
- 1/4 tsp each of green, pink, and yellow color mica (or similar color)
- 1.5 ml Wild Berry Tulips fragrance oil (optional)
- soap cutter
- Spring Florals soap molds
- heat-safe measuring cup
- Rubbing alcohol on a spray bottle
How to make spring-themed flower garden melt and pour soap
There are only a few steps to this DIY, but the final product is perfectly beautiful.
Start by cutting the honey melt and pour soap base and the shea butter melt and pour soap base into small cubes.
Melt the shea butter soap base in the microwave using 30-second intervals.
Once melted, split into two separate containers.
Add the yellow mica to one container and the pink mica to the second container.
Add 1/2 ml of the wild berry tulips fragrance oil to each container and mix well.
Use both hands to hold each of the soap containers and pour carefully into the soap mold, making slight movements. This will create a bit of a mix with fun designs of yellow and pink.
The honey melt and pour soap base has a beautiful amber color. For this fall tropical leaves melt and pour soap DIY I decided not to add any color to this layer.
Allow the soap to cool and form a top dry and hard layer to the touch.
While the first layer of the flower garden soap is cooling, melt the honey melt and pour soap base in the microwave using 30-second intervals.
Add the green color mica to the melted soap and mix well.
Add the remaining 1/2 ml of the wild berry tulips to the green soap and mix well.
Spray a generous layer of rubbing alcohol on the top of the soap. This will ensure that the second layer fully adheres to the first layer of soap. This step is critical – do not skip it!
Pour the honey soap base into the molds and allow it to cool.
Carefully pour the shea butter soap base soap over the honey soap layer. Use a spoon to break the pressure of the pour to ensure that the bottom layer is not broken. This will ensure the two layers are distinct and separate.
Allow the soaps to cool for a couple of hours.
Unmold the spring-themed flower garden melt and pour soaps and enjoy.
Tips and troubleshooting melt and pour soaps DIY
It is a good idea to keep a spray bottle with rubbing alcohol readily available when making melt and pour soaps. This can be used to remove the bubbles at the top of the soap and also aid in adhering layers. If you are using a double-pour technique, make sure to spray some rubbing alcohol at the end to remove any bubbles that may have formed.
Another tip for troubleshooting is to make sure that the pouring temperature is within 10 to 15 degrees of the base soap. This will prevent the bottom layer from breaking. If the second layer of soap is too hot, it could break the first layer and mix with the rest of the soap.
This soap is not only gorgeous I love the beautiful amber color from the honey soap and how perfect it is for fall.
