Sweet Cardamom Chai Whipped Soap with Coffee Seed Oil

I’m excited to share this lovely and luxurious Sweet Cardamom Chai Whipped Soap DIY. This soap smells like waking up with a lovely chai tea, looking at the mountains and smelling the crisp fresh air. This is the first time I have used this sweet chai tea scent and it is really lovely. I decided to add coffee seed oil to this DIY whipped soap because first, I love coffee, and because it just takes the aroma to the next level. And of course, the great properties of coffee seed oil for the skin. I think it is just the perfect inspiration, I have been painting mountain landscapes lately, and just had to create something that would go with those scenes and landscapes. The aroma is lovely and really luxurious, and with that, I decided to use a shimmering dark gold mica and golden burst beads to take that luxury to the next level.

I hope you enjoy this DIY and make it at home.

Making whipped soap is one of my favorite skincare DIY projects. It’s incredibly versatile—you can easily customize it with different colors and scents to create unique whipped soaps for every season. For this sweet cardamom chai soap DIY, you can use a whipped soap base or make your own. I have a DIY whipped soap base from scratch post that you can use to make your base from scratch. Otherwise, I recommend one of my favorite store-bought whipped soap bases, listed in the ingredients list below. This sweet cardamom chai whipped soap is a great hostess gift to make for friends and family any time of the year.

Sweet Cardamom Chai Whipped Soap with Coffee Seed Oil

I like making the two-color style whipped soaps because the design gives it a bit more sophistication and simply because it is fun. However, you can choose to use a single color and only color the borders as I did in the Vanilla Woods Whipped Soap DIY post.

In this whipped soap DIY formulation, I’ve added Kokum butter. Kokum butter is one of my favorites to add to my skincare products, it is non-greasy and a harder butter with a higher melting point than shea butter, another one of my favorites. I use it all the time in my cold process soaps, whipped soaps, and body butters. It is great for skin care products.

Benefits of Kokum Butter:

Kokum butter is a luxurious and deeply nourishing ingredient that offers incredible benefits for homemade skincare products. Packed with essential fatty acids and antioxidants, it is known to help restore skin elasticity and promote a smooth, supple texture. Research suggests that kokum butter supports skin regeneration, making it ideal for dry, damaged, or aging skin. I love that it absorbs quickly without leaving a greasy residue, making it perfect for all skin types. Its rich emollient properties help lock in moisture, it is known to soothe irritation and protect the skin from environmental stressors. Plus, kokum butter is non-comedogenic, meaning it won’t clog pores. With its firm yet creamy texture and neutral scent, it blends beautifully into skincare formulations, enhancing their quality and effectiveness while delivering a spa-like experience right at home.

You can also replace the kokum butter with mango butter or shea butter.

How to make Sweet Cardamom Chai Whipped Soap with Coffee Seed Oil

Separate 4 ounces from the whipped soap base container and place in a mixing bowl. Learn how to make whipped soap base from scratch in this post.

Weigh out the 1 ounce of kokum butter and melt it in the microwave.

Allow the kokum butter to start cooling, and then add it to the mixing container with the whipped soap base.

Add the golden jojoba oil, Vitamin E oil, coffee seed oil, and fragrance oil if you plan to use it, and mix well for five to seven minutes.

Mixing for five to seven minutes will incorporate air into the mix and will create the light and fluffy consistency of the whipped soap. Be patient, it is worth it.

Other oils I have used for whipped soap that are also great for the skin and can be used as a replacement for golden jojoba oil are rice bran oil, sweet almond oil, and grapeseed oil – all great for the skin with wonderful moisturizing properties. Rice bran oil is a wonderful replacement as it is also high in Vitamin E. I always keep these oil options on hand for my cold process soap formulations.

How to color the Sweet Cardamom Chai whipped soap

Separate the whipped soap into two equal parts. The whipped soap already has a light beige color from the coffee seed oil. Therefore I kept one side without any color mica. To the second half, add the gold color mica.

Mix the gold color mica thoroughly using a spatula.

Add the gold bursting beads to the light beige not colored half of the whipped soap.

To pipe the whipped soap into the jars and keep the colors separate, place the two colors of whipped soap side by side on a cling wrap, as shown below. Then insert the soap into a piping bag and pipe the whipped soap into the saving jars.

Use it as often as you want. This is just a great treat for the shower or bath.
