This coffee seed oil and shea butter body butter formulation and DIY I share below is rich and yet feels very light on the skin. It is a great moisturizer for the skin. I love coffee body butter, it is super luxurious and smells amazing.
Ingredients to make the travel-size coffee body butter
- 1 oz shea butter
- 0.25 oz of jojoba oil
- 1 ml Coffee Seed Oil
- 0.5 ml Fragrance (I combined Vanilla and Coffee Shop) optional
- 1 – small plastic jars
- Mixing bowls
How to make coffee butter body butter
Weigh out the shea butter and place it in a heat safe mixing bowl.
Melt the shea butter in the microwave in 30 second intervals.
Once the shea butter is melted, add the jojoba oil and the coffee seed oil and combine using a spoon.
Add the mica colorant if using. I used a cappuccino color mica that is my favorite but you can skip this step if you are not interested in coloring the coffee body butter.
The fragrance is optional as the raw organic shea butter and the coffee seed oil already have the perfect natural coffee aroma. The raw shea butter has a strong aroma. I like the scent but I know some of you have asked for recommendations since you do not like the scent of the raw shea butter. In that case, I recommend using the shea butter that has been deodorized.
I like the vanilla and coffee shop fragrance oil combination because it truly is heavenly. The coffee shop fragrance is one of my favorites it is just indulgent. The combination of those two scents is just wonderful, if you love coffee you will certainly enjoy this scent. I added only a small amount of the fragrance oil to add another layer of incredible aroma to this travel-size coffee body butter.
Transfer the body butter to your favorite container and use as needed. Either glass or plastic containers will work.
I love this travel-size coffee body butter as is. But if it is too greasy, you can add arrowroot powder. I like the perfect combination of the shea butter and the jojoba oil, and the coffee seed oil has so many benefits for the skin.
- Rich in Antioxidants: Coffee seed oil is packed with antioxidants, such as polyphenols and ferulic acid, which help protect the skin from free radical damage and environmental stressors, reducing the signs of aging.
- Anti-Inflammatory Properties: The oil contains anti-inflammatory compounds that can soothe irritated skin, reduce redness, and calm conditions like acne and eczema, promoting a more even skin tone.
- Moisturizing and Hydrating: Coffee seed oil is an excellent moisturizer, providing deep hydration without leaving a greasy residue. It helps to nourish and soften the skin, improving its overall texture and suppleness.
- Enhanced Collagen Production: The oil stimulates collagen and elastin production, which helps to firm and tighten the skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and promoting a youthful complexion.
- UV Protection: While not a substitute for sunscreen, coffee seed oil offers some level of UV protection due to its antioxidant content, helping to shield the skin from the harmful effects of sun exposure.
Something to keep in mind when making body butters is the temperature in the room. If you are making this recipe in a hot environment, you can put the mix in the refrigerator for it to harden a bit faster.
I love the way this travel-size coffee body butter turned out. I am certain I will make it again very soon! Also, if you are a coffee lover or have a coffee lover in the family you may want to check out the Ultimate List of Gift Ideas for coffee lovers.
