I love using whipped soap and make it often. Even my daughter at home loves making this easy DIY and adding her favorite colors scents and additives. She made the Mermaid Blue Whipped Soap I posted some time ago. Making whipped soap is also a fun project to make with friends and family and a great gift idea for a handmade gift.
The scent I selected for this version of the whipped soap is called wild berry tulips. It is a lovely scent with floral and fruity notes. It is perfect for other skin care projects such as body butters and creams and lotions.
In this formulation, I’ve added kokum butter. This butter is highly moisturizing and some studies suggest that it can also reduce the appearance of scars and stretch marks. I also like that it is lightweight and absorbs quickly on the skin.

How to make wild berry tulips whipped soap
The foaming whipped soap base comes in a sealed container and looks a lot like a regular melt and pour soap base but is softer and easy to whip. Separate 15 ounces from the foaming bath butter soap base container and place in a mixing bowl. At this stage, you can whip it for a few minutes to break it up before adding the rest of the ingredients.
In this DIY I decided to keep it in the block and break it with the whisk after adding the rest of the ingredients.
Measure out one ounce of the kokum butter and melt it in the microwave for one and a half minutes in 30 second intervals. Once fully melted add it to the foam bath butter in the mixing bowl.
Add the golden jojoba oil, vitamin E, and the fragrance if you plan to include it. Whip the ingredients together for eight to ten minutes. This will fully combine the ingredients and create the light and fluffy consistency indicative of this type of whipped soap.
Other oils I have used for whipped soap that are also great for the skin and can be used as a replacement for the jojoba oil are sweet almond oil and grapeseed oil – both great for the skin. Even some rice bran oil will be a suitable replacement as it is also high in Vitamin E.
How to color the wild berry tulips whipped soap
Separate the whipped base into 2 equal parts. Add the mica colorants in yellow and pink, into each of the whipped soap containers.
Combine the mica colorants using a spatula first to avoid creating a cloud of colorant, then finish combining the colors using the hand mixer.
To pipe the whipped soap into the jars and keep the colors separate, line the yellow and pink whipped soap in a large piece of cling wrap. Then fold and insert into a piping bag.
Lastly, pipe the whipped soap into the saving jars.
Perfect as a gift whipped soap!
In addition to it being a great skin loving product to make for yourself, this soap can be a great hostess favor or bridesmaid favor.
