I’m excited to share another winter-inspired whipped soap DIY with you. This Winter Holidays whipped soap DIY is a fun DIY that will inspire you and get you in the winter and holiday season mood. The scents I selected for this fun holiday DIY are comparable to well-known scents such as Fraiser Fir and Sweater Weather. Combined, these two scents are the perfect holiday scent for this lovely skincare DIY. The whipped soap DIY is perfect to make any time but with the beautiful red and green traditional holiday colors and the combined scents, it is perfect for this holiday season. Its inspiration was the winter and Christmas themes and the anticipation of the beautiful holiday season. This winter holiday whipped soap DIY is another installment in a four Festive Holidays whipped soap series.

Creating whipped soap is one of my favorite skincare DIY projects. It’s incredibly versatile—you can easily customize it with different colors and scents to create unique whipped soaps for every season. For this winter holiday soap DIY, you can use a whipped soap base or make your own. I have a DIY whipped soap base from scratch post that you can use to make your base from scratch. Otherwise, I recommend one of my favorite store-bought whipped soap bases, listed in the ingredients list below. This winter holiday whipped soap is a great hostess gift to make for friends and family this holiday season.
Winter Holidays Themed Whipped Soap
I chose to combine both the Fraser fir and the sweater weather fragrance oils for this winter whipped soap. I think that combining these scents creates a lovely scent that is perfect for this DIY. With the red and green mica, it is just the perfect treat for the holidays.
In this whipped soap DIY formulation, I’ve added shea butter. Shea butter is one of my favorites to add to my skincare products. I use it all the time in my cold process soaps, whipped soaps, and body butters. It is great for skin care products.
Shea butter is a popular ingredient in DIY skincare for its deeply moisturizing and nourishing properties. Extracted from the nuts of the African shea tree, it is rich in vitamins and fatty acids that benefit the skin in multiple ways. Its creamy consistency and ability to absorb quickly without leaving a greasy residue make it ideal for everything from body butters to lip balms. Shea butter’s unique composition helps improve skin texture, boost hydration, and support a natural glow, making it a must-have in homemade products.
Benefits of Shea Butter:
Moisturizing: Provides deep hydration, making it ideal for dry or dehydrated skin.
Rich in Vitamins: Contains vitamins A, E, and F, which promote skin health.
Non-comedogenic: Does not clog pores, making it suitable for various skin types, including oily skin.
Sun Protection: Offers a small degree of UV protection (SPF 6-10), helping to shield the skin from sun damage.
Versatile: Can be used in lotions, balms, soaps, and more, enhancing texture and performance.
I prefer using raw shea butter but you can use refined shea butter which is processed to remove the color and scent but also retains the good skin care properties. You can also replace the shea butter with kokum butter or mango butter.

How to make winter holidays whipped soap
Separate 4 ounces from the whipped soap base container and place in a mixing bowl. Learn how to make whipped soap base from scratch in this post.
Weigh out the 1 ounce of shea butter and melt in the microwave, then add to the mixing container with the whipped soap base.
Use the hand mixer and mix for a minute or two to mix the shea butter and base.
Add the sweet almond oil, Vitamin E oil, and fragrance oil if you plan to use it, and mix well for another five to seven minutes.
Mixing for five to seven minutes will incorporate air into the mix and will create the light and fluffy consistency of the whipped soap. Be patient, it is worth it.
Other oils I have used for whipped soap that are also great for the skin and can be used as a replacement for sweet almond oil are jojoba oil, rice bran oil, and grapeseed oil – all great for the skin with wonderful moisturizing properties. Rice bran oil is a wonderful replacement as it is also high in Vitamin E. I always keep these oil options on hand for my cold process soap formulations.
How to color the Winter Holidays whipped soap
Separate the whipped soap into two equal parts and add the red mica colorant to one of the parts and the green mica to the second container.
Mix the mica thoroughly using a spatula.
To pipe the whipped soap into the jars and keep the colors separate, place the two colors of whipped soap side by side on a cling wrap, as shown below. Then insert the soap into a piping bag and pipe the whipped soap into the saving jars.
Use it as often as you want. This is just a great treat for the shower or bath.
