Wonderful Cream and Honey Whipped Soap DIY

In this week’s DIY, I was inspired by the wonderful aroma of the Cream and Honey scent and the lovely skin benefits from honey. I decided to make another wonderful and easy whipped soap DIY. In this Cream and Honey whipped soap DIY I use wonderful skin loving ingredients that are great fantastic for the skin. If you have been following this blog you know that I love adding shea butter to my whipped soaps. I used the ultra refined shea butter for this DIY but I still love using the organic unrefined. I know some of you do not care much about the natural scent of the raw organic shea butter so I am giving you another option to still take advantage of its wonderful properties. I decided to add just a bit of honey to this wonderful cream and honey whipped soap DIY. Honey is a great moisturizer for the skin as well as an effective pore cleanser and mild exfoliator.

I absolutely love making different variations of whipped soap at home. I love that I can create unique variations for special occasions, the various seasons, and as gifts for special occasions. You can choose your favorite formulation and simply change colors and scents and you will have a new whipped soap in no time. For this whipped soap DIY, you can use a whipped soap base (Stephensons is my favorite) or make your own. I have a DIY whipped soap base from scratch post that you can use to make your own base for this DIY. I kept the color muted to let the aesthetic reflect the name of this whipped soap.

Summer Themed Whipped Soap

The scent I selected for this whipped soap is called cream and honey. It is a complex and lovely scent with notes of vanilla, milk, white honey, strawberry, and citrus. It is accented with notes of lavender, benzoin, and clary sage to give the sweet notes an earthy depth. I purchased mine from Nurture Soap but other soap making suppliers carry it as well. This scent is perfect all year long.

In this formulation, I’ve added ultra refined shea butter. As I mentioned earlier, I prefer unrefined shea butter but some of you have asked for other options and I recommend getting refined shea butter. The refined shea butter retains the properties but removes the scent and color and it is still a great option to use. You can also replace the shea butter with kokum butter or mango butter. Shea butter is highly moisturizing and some studies show that it can also soothe skin problems and is high in antioxidants which can have anti-aging properties.

How to make cream and honey whipped soap DIY

Separate 3 ounces from the whipped soap base container and place in a mixing bowl. Learn how to make whipped soap base from scratch in this post.

Weigh out the one ounce of shea butter and melt in the microwave using 30 second intervals. Once fully melted add to the mixing container with the whipped soap base.

Use the hand mixer and mix for a minute or two to mix the shea butter and base.

Add the jojoba oil and Vitamin E oil, honey, and fragrance oil, and mix well for another five minutes.

Mix well for another five to seven minutes. This will incorporate air into the mix and will create the light and fluffy consistency of the whipped soap. Be patient, it will have a very light soft texture and feel super light on the skin.

How to color the cream and honey

To pipe the whipped soap into the jars and keep the gold sparkle border color, place the gold sparkle mica mixed with jojoba oil on cling wrap in three parallel lines. Then place the whipped soap over the center line and fold. Finally, insert the soap into a piping bag and pipe the whipped soap into the saving jars.

Use it as often as you want. This is just a great treat for the shower or bath.

Hi, when using Stephensons whipped soap base, do you recommend using Optiphen or Optiphen plus? I will need an additional preservative because I’m selling the product and adding more than 2% additional ingredients. What is the difference between the two?

Hello, I usually recommend Optiphen+ because it has a higher spectrum for mold, bacteria and yeast. A good source of information on that is https://www.soapqueen.com/bath-and-body-tutorials/lotion/talk-it-out-tuesday-preservatives/.
