It’s a wonderful holiday season, and although we don’t get snow here around the Houston area in Texas, I love the white crisp decor resembling snow. This Christmas tree box art is the perfect blue decor for this season. I also love some of the blue Christmas decor that I have seen in more modern homes. I think the blue décor can be also used in a more traditional fashion and farmhouse style this season.

How to make fabric Christmas trees box art
For this project I used a box art that I had from an earlier sale and painted it with chalk paint in lace color. I like the lace color but for this project you can use white as well to give the crisp look for a winter themed design.
The next step is to create the stencils for the different sizes of Christmas trees using the cardstock paper. Use various sizes to create a visual contrast. To create the stencil use a ruler and set up the horizontal line, determine the center and draw a straight line from the end of the horizontal line to the center line at various heights. Draw the two sides of the tree based on the height you would like to use. Since I wanted to keep some space at the top of the box for the “Believe” wording, the tallest tree is 6.5 inches tall.
Determine the layout you would like to have as you cut the various sizes of Christmas trees. I measured the horizontal line of the triangle and made one Christmas tree of 4 inches, two Christmas trees with horizontal line of 3 inches and different heights and one Christmas tree with 2.5 inches horizontal line.
Cut the fabric using the rollers and the mat.
Finalize the design and decoupage the Christmas trees on the box using the mod podge.
I created the word “Believe” using my silhouette and blue color vinyl, but you can also stencil it with paint.
Tip: Use a heat gun to go over the vinyl for a few seconds to warm the adhesive and allow the stencil to quickly and firmly adhere.
Apply one final coat of mod podge to the complete surface to ensure even texture and allow to dry.
