Gorgeous, Luxurious and Skin Loving Pastel Colors Whipped Soap Easy DIY

Pastel colors whipped soap DIY

This pastel color whipped soap is certainly a treat. You’ll love everything about it, the colors, the scent, and the silky smooth skin you’ll have after you use it.

Finished pastel colors whipped soap piped into four ounce plastic jar.

I usually make whipped soap with my daughter, she absolutely loves making soaps with me, she made the Mermaid Blue Whipped Soap I posted some time ago. Making whipped soap is also a fun project to make with friends and a great handmade gift.

I enjoy going to DIY parties! If you plan on hosting a DIY party and whipped soap making sounds like a good idea, I recommend making a large batch ahead of time. Then all that is left to do is to have fun at the party coloring, adding fragrance and piping, and saving and testing the whipped soap.

I will certainly enjoy a DIY party like that!

In this post, I start with a ready made whip soap base. This is an easy way to get started with whipped soap making, however, you can also make your own. Head over to my whipped soap from scratch post to learn how to make it.

Pastel Colors Whipped Soap Ingredients and Materials

  • 16 oz foaming bath butter
  • 2 oz Golden Jojoba Oil
  • 1.5 tsp Vitamin E Oil
  • 3 ml Sweet on Paris fragrance
  • 1/8 tsp Mica soap colorants in pink, purple, blue, green, and yellow
  • Hand mixer
  • Mixing bowls
  • 6 – 4 oz jars with lid

How to make whipped soap from start to coloring in five colors to piping the pastel colors whipped soap. Top left basic whipped soap uncolored. Top right, whipped soap separated and colored. Bottom left whipped soap ready for piping. And bottom right piping of the pastel colors whipped soap.

How to make pastel colors whipped soap

The foaming whipped soap base comes in a sealed container and looks a lot like a regular melt and pour soap base but is softer and easy to whip. Separate 16 ounces from the foaming bath butter soap base container and whip for approximately two to three minutes; it will start turning into that beautiful whipped consistency. I always love how fluffy it looks when whipping, looks just like frosting.

Once the base has been whipped for a few minutes add the golden jojoba oil, vitamin E, and the fragrance if you plan to include it. Continue to whip for another two to three minutes until fully combined and a fluffy consistency is obtained. Other oils I have used that are also great for the skin that can be a replacement for the jojoba oil are sweet almond oil or grapeseed oil – both great for the skin. Even some rice bran oil will be a good replacement as it is also high in Vitamin E.

How to color the pastel colors whipped soap

Separate the whipped base into 5 equal parts. Add the mica colorants in yellow, pink, green, blue, and purple into each of the whipped soap containers.

I like to combine the mica colorants using a spatula to avoid creating a cloud of colorants all over my working area. Then finish combining the colors with the hand mixer.

To get the colors to remain separate, add the pastel colors whipped soap to a large piece of cling wrap. Then fold and insert into a piping bag.

Lastly, pipe the whipped soap into the saving jars.

Perfect as a gift whipped soap!

In addition to it being a great skin loving product to make for yourself, this soap can be a great hostess favor or bridesmaid favor.

If you liked this DIY whipped soap you may also like some inspiration over at some of my earlier Whipped soap posts, Exfoliating Whipped soap and Mermaid Blue Whipped Soap using jojoba beads. Another lovely whipped soap I created some time ago is my Sweet Buttercream Whipped Soap. Also, for a baby shower or baby reveal a lovely Baby blue and baby pink skin loving whipped soap. And for the coffee lover in the family, I recommend the Coffee and Brown Sugar Whipped Soap Scrub. Another skin loving variation with super fantastic shea butter is my Falling in Love Shea Butter Whipped Soap. The Shea Butter and Colloidal Oats Whipped Soap is perfect to soothe the skin with the addition of colloidal oatmeal.

If you try it or get inspired by it, let me know what other variations you come up with or would like me to try.  I love making whipped soap! You can also head over to my post on how to make whipped soap from scratch if you want to try and make the whipped soap base as another fun DIY.

Hello Delisa, this soap stays fluffy for a long time, I recommend using it within three to six months.

Hello Judy – the colors do not stain when the soap is used, nor does it stain the tub or sink. Usually the vendors for these colorants have recommendations on how much color to use to ensure good color and not have a sparkly skin. The general recommendation for this product is 1/16 teaspoon of mica for 16 ounces of product.

Hello Angie, this recipe makes about 18 ounces by weight, however because the whipping incorporates some air it filled six of the 4 ounce plastic jars. As for the cost, it depends on where you purchase the ingredients. I provided some links in the post to the amazon products I recommend. You may be able to get some estimates from there. You can also check soap making suppliers to compare their prices as well.

Hello, I am so glad you like this whipped soap DIY idea. If you are making the product for yourself you could add the food coloring. I have not tried using food coloring so I am not sure if it will change the consistency but if you use only a few drops I do not think it will change the consistency too much. I believe the same goes for liquid soap dies. However as I said earlier I have not tried using those as my favorite method for coloring soaps is using micas. Also, if you are making these for sale you should not use food coloring you should use FDA approved colorants. I hope this helps.

Hi There! Thanks so much for this diy recipe. I made it with my son, and ge loved it. It made my hands dry. Any recommendations on what to possibly add to it? Could adding to much essential oil do this? I think I put too much in.

Hi Sarah, I am so glad you made this DIY and your son loves it. If it makes your hands dry you can try increasing the amount of oil added by a 1/2 ounce, but not too much because it will change the consistency and reduce lather. Another way is to replace the golden jojoba oil with other oils such as avocado oil, sweet almond oil or rice bran oil. If using any of these oils, remember these have a lower shelf life than then golden jojoba oil so make sure to use the whipped soap within the shelf life of the added oil. It might have been the amount of essential oils used as well. With essential oils I usually use a lot less than when I use fragrance.

Just found your site. Lovely! Is the mica amount 1/8th tsp of each color or is that the combined total of all colors? Also, in response to one of the comments, you mentioned 1/16th tsp.

Hello. Thank you so much for stopping by and for posting your question. I do recommend to start with a small amount like the 1/16 tsp after separating the base for the five different colors. You would want to keep them pastel but still give a lovely color to the soap. You can certainly increase the amount of mica used to up to 1/8 tsp. Starting with a small amount is best to control the colors and get the right colors you want.
